Poor staff, day one never given a tour or explained how my memebership works.When at the end of my 1 year contract they would not let me call in and cancel the month by month payments with out first wrighting a request one month in advance.basicly trying to make it hard to get out of their billing system.
Not been to this leisure centre for many years, but have just taken out a swim membership as it was the cheapest locally. Knew they had a recent refurb but to me, other than some new changing cubicles and lockers and some new bits in the kids area, absolutely nothing has changed. Decided to go to the #thisgirlcan swim session (which is the ONLY ladies only session) as the website made it sound great and I joined in the hope of being more confident. Nothing promised on the website was there, no helpful staff to show you where to go that have been specially trained for the sessions, no one to give you a box to take poolside for any extra bits. There was no one to 'be on hand to provide guidance and support, or just to be a friendly face while youre getting used to things'. The only people there were 3 lifeguards, 2 of which where cleaning the changing areas and the receptionists, nothing about this girl can was mentioned or advertised anywhere.Quite disappointed really. Starting to wish I'd paid more and gone elsewhere
Had a dispute over my membership. Was told I had taken a new agreement out in 2008 which I disputed. When I asked to see a copy of the 2008 agreement the manager of the cente wrote to say he had a copy of the agreement but not a signed version!! Now going to Corby Leisure centre which is much cleaner, the staff actually want to help you and it has a nice health suite. Would have given it nil stars but software would not let me.
In dire need of a full refurbishment. The Gym is okay but most of the place is very tired. Swimming pool is okay but pool side toilets have standing water and often smell.Edit a year on. Still dire and dismal, poor processes, disorganised, don't answer the phone. Abysmal.
Overall, facilities are shabby and tired despite the recent refurb.Sadly, staff are poorly trained to deal with solving membership issues, nor are they consistent in the recounting of leisure centre policies and procedures.Cafe is nice enough though the refit of the cafe looks cheaply done. The staff are friendly and helpful. They make most food to order, but did from that chilled unit isn't cold at all.Good array of gym equipment which is kept very clean. Most Trainers are friendly and approachable. The floors and walls were finished to poor standard of quality. Air con is incredibly poor which is really hard to endure in summer months.Toilets & showersJust gross... Wet, dirty, smell bad. Often tiles and light fixtures are broken and most facilities are dated.Swimming poolThe pool itself is nice, but they do not sufficiently control three heat an humidity pool side. This is particularly of concern in summer for small children and the elderly who struggle to sit pool side for any length of time like for example during swimming lessons.
