Love this site, always clean with a beautiful lake that the sun sets over, the staff are wonderful, professional and very friendly. I love that you can hire fire pits and toast marshmallows as the sun goes down. The toilets are clean and tidy and the wash up area is one of the nicest i've seen. The lodges are stunning and decorated to an extreamly high tasteful standard all with views over the lake perfect for a relaxing get away and great value too
We stayed here 1 night in wet and miserable autumn so hard to sing and shout but the people there were lovely and the amenities block was good. If pitched round the lake lovely view but if you don't fish and don't drive not sure what you would do. Take a good book :)
Stayed post Xmas until new year. Site was quiet and tranquil. Perfect country retreat. The only fault could be the lack of internet access. The site is trying to put this right, but still needs working on if it is something you need. Better to wait and give the internet a miss and take in the lovely surroundings. The staff are lovely and the toilets are clean, bearing in mind our attendance at one of the quieter periods of the year. Definitely going again.
I stayed for four nights in Woodpecker Lodge which is new. It was very hot when I was there and having all the greenery and the lake was a great relief from being in the hot polluted air of town. Lovely birds and other wildlife. Very nice staff and you can buy fresh free range eggs in the shop and delicious ice cream!
This is a superb campsite. Beautiful lake for a walk around. The gliding school was fantastic to watch. The grandchildren were mesmerized . it has a real family feel to it. I found the showers and toilets very clean. I will be going back.
