After after early hiccups out of their control they pulled out all stops for us to progress quickly we then management complete and get keys in approx 8 weeks after and all staff went to great lengths to help us. Good, friendly and efficient service. Abbie dealt with my sale and (somewhat traumatic) purchase excellently. Always ready to discuss and update me on the process. The only hiccup was, through no fault ours, exchange with our seller was delayed. The terms of our contract with JS Law stated that if exchange and completion take place in less than 5 days then an extra 150 was payable. Ours was on same day, which I don't think unusual. I thought this was unfair and wanted to lodge a formal complaint. However the extra fee was waived, as a gesture of seasonal goodwill.
Unfortunately I used this firm to buy a house. I wont be using them again or recommend them. There was a long list of failings. The lead solicitor was a nightmare to contact and would not contact me regarding delays or mistakes on their end. In the end, it was the assistant that saved the day and would provide regular updates when I contacted them first.A few months after completing our business, they contacted me to collect money that they forgot about during the process. However, since then, Ive not had a response from emails or phone calls.I was willing to give them a second chance on some more property contracts, but because they cant answer the phone or emails, theyve lost business to a solicitor who will answer their phones and emails... and deliver when they promise.
I predominately worked with Joe Worland at JS Law for my purchase and sale. I was very impressed with the way Joe handled my case and the way he handled all the complications that arose within the chain. He was always very clear in providing updates to me with regards to current situations and quick to chase on outstanding queries (putting me at ease). One point of feedback would have been for JS Law to proactively provide me with updates rather than me having to ask for them (which would then highlight outstanding queries). I would however work with Joe at JS Law again for any future property transactions.
